3 tips on how to prepare for competition.

Updated: Mar 9, 2021

If you are a professional athlete, semi-professional, amateur, or you take your sport as a hobby but still want to improve your performance.

Here I will give you three tips on improving your confidence in competitions and not letting yourself be shaken so easily in adverse situations.

mental performance coaching, mindset

1- Preparation. If you are a dedicated athlete, who performs your training correctly and consistently, there is no reason for you to suspect that you are not prepared to compete. Remember that all your opponents must also be thinking the same thing. Trust your training, and talk to your trainer if you want to improve something.

2- Don't stick to past defeats/failures. The fact that you have previously lost a match/competition does not influence your next round. One does not affect the other. On the contrary, you should use your failures as learning, adjust, evolve, and with certainty, your chance of defeat will be much less.

3- In sports, there will always be victories and defeats, and This is normal. You will never be the winner 100% of the time. And by saying this, I'm not a pessimist. That just a fact, and Understanding it will help you a lot. I noticed that many of my clients have a big problem, which is the fear of losing. As the saying goes, 'The fear of losing takes away the will to win,' which is very accurate. However, the other extreme is also not good; not being affected by defeat will make you a natural loser. The ideal is to find a middle ground in understanding that losses will come without thinking that it is so typical not to feel uncomfortable. That is my job as a Mental Coach. Make my students understand and act correctly in different situations.

I'm sure you want to know a little more about Mental Performance. I have a free course that will teach you specific mental exercises that will help you in sports and any aspect of your life.

Thanks!
